This one is about the moodswings and how stupid the shit you think about when you're depressed seems when you're not depressed. It's about getting wrecked to deal with your shitty mood, and how it's not really helpful, but nothing is, so what the fuck can you do? Difficulty in making a persistent effort can hinder your life progress, that sort of thing. The potato thing was because there were lots of double meanings about getting baked and being a couch potato. Vodka is made of potatoes. It's all thematic.
This was the first instrumental recorded for the EP, the lyrics were written and recorded almost a year later.
lyrics
Every so often
I find myself in a position of power
I find myself in control
I look back at a wasted past
Look in the mirror thinking
Oh well what the fuck do you know?
Take the time to realise the world is fine
The only thing that's broken here's inside your mind
Why am I so tired
Can't make my brain go
Lying on the sofa
I'm a potato
Can't handle more drugs
So say no to jejo
Cause oh man I'm so baked
I'm a potato
Now in the moment
Forgot what it's like to be drowning in sorrow
To feel the dearth in your soul
You're happy at last, but this too will pass
Look in the mirror thinking
Oh well what the fuck do you know?
Take the time to realise the world is fine
The only thing that's broken here's inside your mind
Why am I so tired
Can't make my brain go
Lying on the sofa
I'm a potato
Can't handle more drugs
So say no to jejo
Cause oh man I'm so baked
I'm a potato
I can't remember
I'm better off fried
Mouth feels like cotton (Attention is rotten)
Attention is rotten (Mouth feels like cotton)
Words I've forgotten
So I bibbidy bobbity boo
What did I do last night?
I can't remember
Lion on the sofa
(Oh shit that sounds dangerous)
I can't recount all the glasses I've smashed
I drank too much vodka
I ended up mashed
Like a pa-pa-tada-ta-ta-to-da-da-da-daaaaaa
(Potato)
