Set the morning after the events of Pota2o, the character reflects on the movie/dream from the night before. It's all very well and good trying to find happiness by exploring the wonder in the world, but when your brain won't let you experience happiness, and there is so much corruption in the world, it can be hard to be free enough to find eudaimonia. It's difficult to escape capitalism and big government. It's easier to get high and not think about it.
In the first line, I drew a comparison between coffee and jerking off because they both make you feel good but make you feel kinda shitty if you try to get at it straight again as soon as you finished, they've both been found to have a causative and curative effect on depression, and both have been found to reduce your risk of prostate cancer later in life if you do it once a day. I thought this was kinda weird.
This song was rapid, I got the vast majority of it done in a day and a half. It features piano by the wonderfully talented Geecom Chan (youtube.com/xijinmusic)
lyrics
Jerked off and drank my coffee
It seems I am experiencing exponentially diminishing returns
Oh what? Excuse me, I'm sorry
For muddling your tiny mind with all these words you really should have learned
I drag myself out of bed
Sadly resigned to a life of luxury
But my mind sees steel bars and bunkers instead of the antenna feeding me populist signal
The air that I breathe is four hundred degrees
I can feel my troubles melt away
No longer cursed with persistence of consciousness
I can taste my splintered memory
Watching from overhead, guarding me carefully are
Angels, Watchmen, God and the NSA
I must be too dumb to know what is good for me
Vote malevolent lizard overlord in 2016
This is impossible
Trust in authority, a logical fallacy
Making the hardest call
Fumbling to structure objective reality
Psychotic brainwashing subtly got to me
Gathering materials to assemble my spaceship
Prep me for surgery, autolobotomy
Anaesthesiologists, bring me the good shit
The air that I breathe is four hundred degrees
I can feel my troubles melt away
No longer cursed with persistence of consciousness
I can taste my splintered memory
Watching from overhead, guarding me carefully are
Angels, Watchmen, God and the NSA
I must be too dumb to know what is good for me
